Specifics and logisticsBack to Expeditions Launched in 2008 , White Pointer 2 is a custom built 36ft GE Catamaran equipped with 2x 225 4 stroke engines. As she is a custom built vessel she benefits from the refinements of our other previous vessels. Specific emphasis has been placed on all round viewing and photographic ability, close to water level photographic opportunities and easy cage and dive step access. With an open plan layout all areas of this vessel are easily accessible offering unsurpassed viewing opportunities, both from deck level to our upper deck. With large specially designed Marlin gates access to the cage is as simple as stepping off the boat and into the water. The fully enclosed cabin has an electronic head, wrap around windows for 360 degree views, multiple storage lockers and all the latest navigational and safety equipment available. Licensed for a total of 16 persons she is spacious & comfortable with cushioned seats. Rather than licensing our vessel to carry anywhere from 20-40 passengers as is normal in white shark cage diving boats we chose to limit our capacity to ensure a uncrowded, safe and personalized experience. Our shark cage is capable of taking 3 divers at a time we limit the cage to a maximum of two per dive. The cage is of a steel construction with ample flotation and viewing ports allowing photographic opportunities. The cage is also constructed in such a way as to not be damaging to the sharks if they swim into the side of it. Simonstown is a safe, scenic and convenient location only 35 minutes from Cape Town. Accomodation overlooks beautiful False Bay and is a short distance from the Boulders penguin colony.Simonstown is also home to the South African navy and has a variety of quality restaurants and other attractions. Guests need to arrive in Cape Town one day prior to the start date. Each expedition ends on the afternoon of the last day. If Extra accommodation is required before or after an expedition we can gladly book this for you. All trips are weather dependant based on the discretion of the captain. During all three specialty expeditions an average of 75% of days are sea going. On any weather affected days the package includes the option to do the following land based activity in and around Cape Town, the world’s 3 rd most popular city.
In addition to this one evening will include a specially prepared authentic South African meal followed by a talk on sharks by Chris & Monique Fallows.
