Afternoon trip
The sole focus of the afternoon trip is shark cage diving so most of your time will be spent right next to the sharks.
We are close to the Boulders penguin colony and Cape Point, so if you have time you should consider visiting both these magnificent sights before or after an exhilarating shark diving trip.
You will also have a great opportunity to see the Boulders penguin colony and Cape Point which are very close to where we will be diving.
12:55
Meet the crew at Simons Town Pier. Guests are welcomed aboard and a full safety and weather briefing is given before departure.
13:00
Depart for Seal Island (25 to 35 minute boat ride)
13:30 to 16:30
When we arrive to Seal Island we will decide where the best spot is to anchor up. This is mostly based on weather and sea conditions.
When our anchor spot is decided, we will attract sharks to our vessel. The shark cage will then be placed in the water and sharks are drawn to the boat and cage using small amounts of bait.
Safety precautions and operational procedures are then explained to divers wishing to enter the shark diving cage. It is important to know that sharks come very close to the boat so it is not necessary to dive in order to see them. Those wishing to stay on the boat will still have excellent views of the Great White Shark.
Snacks accompanied by soft drinks, fruit juice and bottled water are available throughout the course of the afternoon.
The afternoon excursion includes cage diving and surface viewing. This trip lasts from 1pm to 5pm and costs R1 140.00 per person.
*Exclusive hire of the boat, White Pointer, is R11 000.00 for the afternoon trip for a maximum of 12 guests.
